A man wanted in Virginia was taken into custody in Greeneville early this morning.
An officer with the Greeneville Police Department stopped a vehicle with a headlight out at the East Andrew Johnson Highway and Lafayette Street intersection around 3:30 AM. The driver, identified as Phillip Mayhew of Hopewell, Virginia, was discovered to have active warrants out of Virginia with full extradition.
Mayhew was taken into custody for being a fugitive from justice. He was also issued a summons to appear in Greene County Sessions Court for violation of the financial responsibility law and registration violation.
