A Greeneville man is facing charges after leaving his wrecked vehicle Sunday night.
The Greeneville Police Department responded around 8:30 PM to the intersection of West Main Street and South McKee Street to the report of an abandoned vehicle sitting in the middle of the road. Upon arrival, a Ford SUV was located that appeared to have been wrecked and there was fresh blood around the car.
The registration to the vehicle came back to a residence on Lynn Avenue. When police responded in an attempt to find the driver, a man was located who said his father, Pablo Figueroa-Barrita, was driving. He said he picked his dad up from his disabled vehicle to take him home.
Figueroa-Barrita told police he was driving and swerved to miss a motorcycle, striking a parked truck. He allegedly admitted to drinking and performed poorly on field sobriety tests.
He was arrested for DUI, driving on a suspended license, violation of financial responsibility, and leaving the scene of an accident involving damage.
