A Greene County man was charged with shooting a neighbor’s dog and, according to the neighbor, then pointed a gun at her.
The incident, in the 3700 block of Whitehouse Road, occurred around 4:40 Sunday afternoon.
According to the complainant, William Cobb shot her dog as it was coming away from Cobb’s property. The dog’s owner says she walked toward the man’s home, and he then pointed the gun at her. Cobb denied that allegation to responding law enforcement.
Cobb was charged with aggravated assault and felony animal cruelty. The report says his gun was collected and placed into evidence. He was taken to the Greene County Detention Center and was scheduled for a Sessions Court hearing Monday.
