A man was arrested Sunday afternoon after he reportedly called 911 multiple times in order to talk to dispatchers.
Police went to the Andrew Johnson Inn around 3:15 Sunday and encountered Daryl Caldwell, who had called dispatch six times without requesting anything. Caldwell was told not to call 911 unless it was an emergency, but he called again two hours later.
When officers returned to the motel, Caldwell claimed that it was police who had been calling him. Caldwell appeared to be under the influence, and a glass pipe with residue was in plain view inside the room.
Caldwell was charged with making non-emergency 911 calls and possession of drug paraphernalia, and taken to the Greene County Detention Center.
