A Greeneville man was arrested Sunday after a search warrant was issued to him for theft of a home Saturday night.
According to the reports from Greene County Sheriff’s Department, the suspect Michael Lowe got a ride from someone to the home on Bear Hollow Road. The witness was told he would be helping remove a few totes and a safe that belonged to the suspect, but was at his dad’s house. The witness loaned his wife’s car to the suspect due to Lowe only having his motorcycle. He helped get the safe into the trunk, drove back to the suspects house and left.
Once the victims of the home arrived about 3 PM Saturday, they saw a lawnmower blade on the porch, the backdoor unlocked, and an axe on the kitchen floor. The gun safe in a hallway was taken including 5 firearms in it, as well as a jar with money that was taken from the bedroom.
The witness reached out to the sheriff’s office after seeing a post with his wife’s vehicle on Facebook, relating to the theft. At which point he realized that the suspect committed the theft and broke into the residence. A warrant was issued for Lowe. He was located on Forest Street Sunday with several items stolen in his garage. He was charged with aggravated burglary and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
