A man was taken into custody Sunday night for aggravated burglary following an incident at a residence on Price Lane.
The Greeneville Police Department responded to the scene around 9:45 PM on the report of a man who entered the apartment with a possible firearm. The suspect, identified as David Manzi of Waddell Love Road, reportedly let himself into the apartment unannounced and woke up a man who was asleep on the couch. The man said he had no idea who Manzi was or why he was in the apartment. Two others arrived back at the residence to find Manzi sill there. The two made him leave and Manzi left his belongings behind. Manzi had left on foot when police arrived.
Officers responded a short time later to a possible sighting of Manzi at the Dollar General store on West Main Street, but he was not there. Information was then received of someone fitting Manzi’s description who knocked on the door of a residence on Reeves Hill. Officers searched a nearby wooded area and found him.
Officers took Manzi into custody and transported him to the Greene County Detention Center on the aggravated burglary warrant.
