As an investigation continues into a report of shots fired at a Greeneville motel on Friday morning, one man is in custody on an outstanding warrant.
Greeneville police went to the Greeneville Inn and Suites at 1790 East Andrew Johnson Highway around 3:40 Friday morning. Police said in a statement that there was evidence of gunshots taking place, but no victims or suspects were found at the location.
About six hours after the investigation began, police on the scene made contact with two men. One of the men, 36-year-old Kurtis Lewis of Cocke County Road, had a warrant for his arrest and was taken into custody.
Detectives from the Greeneville Police Department are continuing the investigation into the gunshots, but do not believe there is a significant risk to the public at this time.
