A Greeneville man was arrested on Friday after police received a call regarding a man with a sword that broke into a home.
The Greeneville Police Department responded to the 300 block of Mysinger Road and spoke with the victim. He said that afternoon around 5 PM, he heard a car door slam outside and saw a male walk up to his porch. The man grabbed a sword on the porch and tried to enter the residence. Once he noticed the door was locked, he went toward the back of the home and forced his way inside through a back door.
The man entered the home, grabbed a box, and walked back outside; all while the victim was in his bedroom. Sometime later, an officer located the man in his vehicle and performed a traffic stop. He was identified as Michael Finnerty. A sword was in his possession and he also had a firearm. He was charged with aggravated burglary and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
