The Lonesome Pine Trail/Rogersville Road was closed to thru traffic for several hours after an accident Thursday morning. The roadways did not open until about 6:30 PM.
The driver, identified as 31-year-old Roman Brenell of Louisiana, was injured in the wreck, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol report.
A flatbed tractor trailer hauling lumber overturned in the 200 block in the sharp turns just past the Vulcan Materials/Summers-Taylor quarry. The load spilled onto part of the roadway right before 8 AM. According to the report, the trailer veered off the right side of the road, down an embankment, and overturned coming to a final rest on its side.
Mosheim Volunteer Fire Department, Greene County EMS, Greene County EMA, Greene County Sheriff’s Department, Greene County Highway Department, TDOT, and Casper’s Wrecker Service responded to work the scene.
