A Limestone man has been charged after an incident Monday morning in which he allegedly assaulted an elderly woman.
24-year-old Isaac Shane Whitson was arrested for aggravated domestic assault and interference with emergency calls.
Washington County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a domestic assault at a Garland Road residence on Monday morning. Upon arrival, they spoke with an elderly female who had a swollen area on her face. She said the incident started as a verbal altercation with Whitson, who she said started throwing things around the house. He reportedly unplugged the house phone and threw a smoke detector at her, striking her in the face.
Whitson fled the residence before deputies arrived, but was quickly located in a nearby field. He was transported to the Washington County Detention Center.
Whitson’s bond, which he made, was set at $25,000. He was due in court on Tuesday.
