Scattered Showers and thunderstorms are forecast for this afternoon. A few of the storms may become strong to severe, according to the National Weather Service, with the biggest threats being damaging winds and heavy rainfall.
In addition, very hot conditions are expected today, Sunday, and Monday. Highs will run into the high 80’s, with heat index values between 95 and 100 degrees.
When the heat index climbs, small changes can make a big difference, like moving work and exercise to early morning, drink before you feel thirsty, take air-conditioned breaks, check on your older neighbors, and never leave kids or pets in the car.
