Last Details Getting Buttoned Up For New Scooters Coffee Site & Depot Street Project

The Town of Greeneville’s Planning Director Randy Davenport updated the Municipal Planning Commission on current and pending projects within Greeneville like Scooters Coffee, who seems to be on its way to opening sometime soon.

Davenport says he doesn’t have a date for an opening right now but that it is approaching fast. The Depot Street Project is moving along as always with a new goal of August 12 for a possible ribbon cutting of the block between Irish and Main Street, but that is still tentative. The last few details are getting buttoned up and Davenport said the parking lot was just paved last week. Workers are getting down the striping and working on signage. Once the project is completed he feels it will be a big asset to the town.

The new car wash next to Walmart on the Andrew Johnson Highway is moving along as well. Davenport says there were some issues with one of the contactors and the demolition of the project but work is progressing and should be moving forward rather quickly.

He also spoke with developers yesterday morning who own the property where the new Fast Pace Urgent Care Facility opened. Developers still want to develop something on that site that could potentially change the face of Greeneville when it comes to eating establishments but Davenport still won’t share what that new addition could be. He did explain in an interview with Radio Greeneville that developers want to keep that information private for the time being and he is respecting the their request.

There is still talk about an apartment complex but no plan has actually been brought before the commission yet.
