A Kingsport man was arrested for DUI after wrecking his vehicle in Greene County Saturday night.
The Greene County Sheriff’s Department responded to the intersection of Middle Creek Road and Harmony Road around 9:30 PM. The driver, Geoffrey Courtney of Stonegate Road, reportedly had an odor of alcohol coming from his person. Courtney said his vehicle was run off the road, forcing him to drive up an embankment. The vehicle came to a stop on the backside of a guardrail.
A beer can was found outside the driver’s door. Courtney performed poorly on field sobriety tests and was transported to the Greene County Detention Center for DUI 4th offense.
