A Jonesborough man was arrested following a traffic stop in Greene County on Tuesday afternoon.
A deputy with the Greene County Sheriff’s Department was on routine patrol in the parking lot of the Marathon station at Ripley Island Road around 1:30 PM. He witnessed a white BMW enter Ripley Island Road at a high rate of speed. When the driver saw the patrol car, he immediately conducted a U-turn.
The deputy identified the driver as Ronnie Gosnell of County Farm Road, who had a revoked license for DUI. He also had multiple failure to appear charges in his history.
After getting behind Gosnell on East Andrew Johnson Highway, the deputy initiated a traffic stop in the parking lot of the Rheatown Store after Gosenll turned off 11-E.
He was taken into custody for driving on a revoked license. He was also issued a citation for violation of the financial responsibility law.
