A Johnson City man was arrested Friday evening after he reportedly ran off Bohannon Avenue and struck steel beams with his vehicle.
Officers went to the 500 block of Bohannon Avenue around 7:45 Friday night and found a black Dodge Charger had gone off the roadway, struck a street sign and then hit steel beams stacked in the parking lot of Miller Industries.
The driver, 31-year-old Diego Perez of Johnson City, was uncooperative and refused to perform sobriety tests. He was taken to the Greene County Detention Center and refused a blood test, at which time a warrant was issued.
A records check showed that Perez had a previous DUI in Washington County last September, and his license had been revoked. Perez was charged with DUI second offense, driving while revoked and violating implied consent. Damage to the street sign was estimated at $100.
