The Greene County school year is officially underway as events are being held around the area beginning today.
Rather than the traditional one large opening in-service, four separate in-service events are being held at the four high schools.
The first one began at 8:30 this morning at North Greene for high school educators and elementary school teachers in that area.
West Greene will host in-service this afternoon.
The two other in-service events will be next Monday at South Greene and Chuckey Doak.
While students not already registered will report to school Friday morning for an abbreviated day, the first full day for students in the Greene County School System will be Wednesday, August 6th.
The annual Back-to-School Bash is returning to an in-person walk through format.
It will take place on Monday, August 4th from 5:00 until 7:00 pm at Chuckey-Doak High School. Event organizer Alisha Ricker says there will be free school supplies, free food and giveaways and a Community Organization Resource Fair.
