The Tennessee Highway Patrol responded at 2:06 am Sunday to a possible crash on 1-81 South at mile marker 24 in Greene County.
The driver advised that he had struck an unknown object in the roadway.
Upon the arrival of emergency personnel, it was discovered that the vehicle had struck a human body lying in the roadway.
Neither the driver of the 2025 Honda Civic, 32 year old Almonte Benjamin Uceta, or the 31 year old passenger Parra Benancio Jimenez, both of Tennessee, were injured according to the report. Both were wearing seat belts.
According to a preliminary THP report, the investigation is still on going for the identity of the body and why it was in the roadway.
