Greene County Solid Waste Operational Hours for Christmas and New Years
The convenience centers that are regularly scheduled to be open from 08:00AM – 4:00PM on Saturday, December 23 will close at 12:00 PM.
The Greene County Solid Waste Department and all the convenience centers will be closed on Monday December 25, and on Monday January 1, 2024 (The transfer station and landfill will be closed on both days). They will resume normal scheduled hours at the convenience centers and business pickups on Tuesday, December 26 and Tuesday, January 2, 2024.
Town of Greeneville
Town offices are closed starting at noon today, all day December 25, and all day January 1.
Public Works will be closed on Monday, December 25 and Monday, January 1. They will double up on Tuesday, December 26 and Tuesday, January 2 to pick up Monday and Tuesday’s garbage. Extra garbage will be picked up from the 26th to 28th.
Walters State
All campuses of Walters State Community College will be closed from Wednesday, December 20 through Monday, January 1st. Campuses will be open on a regular schedule on January 2nd.
Greeneville-Greene County Humane Society
The Humane Society will close Friday, December 22 through Monday, December 25. They will reopen Tuesday, December 26. They are also closed Saturday, December 30 through Monday, January 1, and reopen Tuesday, January 2.
Greeneville/Greene County Public Library
They will close from December 23rd-January 1st.
Greeneville Energy Authority
They are closed on December 25th and January 1st.
Local Tennessee State Offices and US Post Office will be closed on Christmas, there will be no mail delivery.
