Greene County Mayor Kevin Morrison announced today that Greene County Health Department Director Matthew McConaughey has resigned from his position, effective March 31.
McConaughey has accepted a similar position with in Maryland near his family.
Mayor Morrison praised McConaughey’s work in Greene County, noting that Covid was still very prevalent when McConaughey first started. Morrison said McConaughey delivered exceptional service to the area while managing personnel, budgets and building updates.
