Greeneville and Greene County is in a Hazardous Weather outlook for the rest of this week.
Hot temperatures and increasing Humidity brings the estimated heat index values in the high 90s for the rest of the week and into the weekend.
According to the National Weather Service in Morristown, heat index values could reach as high as 96 degrees today, and 99 degrees for tomorrow.
While the Greene County area is seeing extreme heat, the Tennessee Valley will see heat index values between 100 and 105 degrees.
Even with the humidity, the chance of precipitation is remaining low, with the forecast showing a 30% Chance of thunderstorms for tomorrow.
If you’re planning on working outside or attending the fair festivities today, ensure to take the proper precautions by staying hydrated and opting for areas with shade if you begin to feel overheated.
