The verdict is in and the verdict is guilty on both counts of first degree murder in the case of Jordan Allen.
The verdict was announced at 11:54 am, less than three hours after the jury began deliberations.
The bifurcated trial began at 1:38 as the state is seeking Life Without Parole for Allen, charged in the April 2022 murders of Sherry Cole and Jessie Allen.
Witnesses are allowed to be called during such a hearing and Rick Williams is scheduled to be back on the stand for the state as part of a Victims Impact Statement about the death of his sister and nephew.
The defense is arguing mitigating circumstances in Jordon Allen’s life as reason for the jury to grant him life with the possibility for parole. Those arguments are being presented by Public Defender Leslie Douthat.
