The Town of Greeneville is accepting applications for the 2024-2025 Youth Commission. The group is comprised of local teens, enrolled in Greeneville High School, or home schooled within the city limits, as sophomores, juniors, or seniors.
The purpose of the commission is for youth to have a voice and make an impact in their community. Members selected have an interest in local government, a desire in making local government a career choice, and/or want to be more involved in the decision-making process.
This group of individuals will work toward developing their own individual leadership skills while strengthening their communities through volunteer service and increased communication with municipal leaders. Each member serves a one-year term with the option of reappointment. There is no cost to participate, but dedication and attendance are essential for the completion and success of the program.
The application packet requires two references, a permission slip signed by a parent or guardian, and proof of good academic standing. It is posted on the Town of Greeneville website or printed copies can be acquired from GHS Principals. The deadline to apply is Tuesday, September 10th. Applicants will be interviewed for acceptance the week of September 17th. The first session will be on Tuesday, September 24th.
