A woman from Mayor Avenue in Greeneville reported to the Greeneville Police Department that she had been scammed by an alleged “geek squad” for more than $2,000.
According to the report the victim told an officer yesterday that she received an email from the “Geek Squad” with a phone number for her to contact. After speaking with the suspect she was told money was put into her bank account from them and that she needed to repay this money. The victim went out and got prepaid Visa’s and gave the suspect the information to the card.
The total amount of funds was almost $2500.
