A Greeneville woman was arrested Sunday after she was reportedly passed out in a parking lot for two hours.
An officer with the Greeneville Police Department responded to McDonald’s on East Andrew Johnson Highway around 2:00 PM and saw the vehicle with the engine running, backed partially in a parking space where it appeared to nearly strike another vehicle. The woman in the driver’s seat was identified as Ashley Mabry of South Main Street. She said she was on her way to work at 11:00 AM after working late the previous night. Mabry said she stopped to get a cup of coffee and fell asleep.
Mabry reportedly had slow speech and was unsteady on her feet. She performed poorly on field sobriety tests. A partial Xanax pill was found in the vehicle. While en route to the Greene County Detention Center, Mabry kept nodding off in the patrol car.
Mabry was charged with DUI, violation of implied consent, and possession of a schedule 4 drug.
