A Greeneville woman is facing drug and weapon charges following a traffic stop on Thursday night.
An officer with the Greeneville Police Department stopped a vehicle at the Forest Hills Road and Snapps Ferry Road intersection around 10:30 PM for a registration violation.
The driver, Kristen Whipp of Roller Street, was unable provide proof of insurance on the vehicle. A K-9 officer gave a positive alert to the odor of narcotics on the car. A .32 caliber revolver was found, along with a pill bottle that contained suboxone.
Whipp was taken into custody and transported to the Greene County Workhouse for a scan of contraband on her person. A corrections officer discovered Whipp had 9.5 grams of methamphetamine she had attempted to conceal.
Whipp was charged with possession of schedule 3 drugs, possession of meth, driving while in possession of meth, fabricating or tampering with evidence, possession of a firearm during a felony, violation of the financial responsibility law, and expired registration.
