In a great back-and-forth matchup between two of the top teams in the state, the Greeneville Greene Devil soccer team would in regulation and two extra time periods tied up with Valor College Prep 0-0. The match would then shift to penalty kicks to decide a winner and Valor Prep would defeat Greeneville 4-3 to win their first state soccer title.
Drew Shelton and Spencer Robinson would each have two shots on goal while Connor Stayton and Josue Castillo would each add one. Tanner Myers would have 2 saves throughout the game and into the two overtime periods.
Shelton, Austin Beets, and Brady Quillen would each find the back of the net in the shootout to end the game.
The Greene Devils finish the season 20-2-4 and finish state runners-up in Class AA.
