Greeneville Police are searching for a driver who fled the scene of a single-vehicle crash early Wednesday morning.

Police responded just before 8:15 am to the intersection of Rainbow Circle and Pinecrest Drive to reports of an abandoned vehicle off the roadway. Upon arriving at the scene, the 2003 Chevrolet S14 was discovered down an embankment. Preliminary investigations indicate the vehicle drifted off the road, plunged down a steep incline and collided with multiple trees. The driver had fled the scene by the time authorities arrived.

A Greeneville woman sustained apparent minor injuries in a single vehicle Tuesday afternoon just before 1:30 near the intersection of East McKee Street and West Barton Ridge Road.

Greeneville Police say the 2021 Nissan Rogue operated by Mary H. Whaley was traveling southbound on East McKee Street when the driver veered off the right side of the roadway. The vehicle then struck a mailbox and a road sign before crashing into an embankment. The SUV then continued down the embankment and came to a final stop after colliding with a tree.

Whaley was transpored by EMS to Greeneville Community Hospital.

A Kingsport woman was arrested at the Greeneville Probation Office Wednesday morning on Violation of Probation charges out of Sullivan County.

Greeneville Police responded to the local probation office around 9:30 am yesterday when it was found that Katherine Kay Davis of West Stone Drive was wanted on the VOP warrant in that county.

Davis was detained without incident and held for Sullivan County authorities.
