The Greeneville Municipal Planning Commission Tuesday granted a preliminary site plan approval for a building addition at the Greeneville Energy Authority Operations Center property on West Andrew Johnson Highway. The construction of the 9,000 square foot addition will include new office space, access drives and parking, stormwater detention and landscaping. It will also include an ADA accessible stairwell and elevator.
Prior to approval of the addition four separate rezoning requests were approved as on, rezoning GEA property in that area from R1 single-family residential to M2 high impact industrial.
The commission also approved recommending annexation of a parcel of property into the town’s corporate limits. That will require City Council approval.
Bill McNaney, Civil Engineer with Robert E. Lamb which is the architect for the project, was in attendance to help discuss the plans.
Hopes are to break ground in about two months with construction to be complete within a year.
