The Greeneville Municipal Planning Commission met yesterday morning and approved a mass grading plan for a 6.2 acre development, which will be a fast pace Urgent Care, located  at the intersection of East Andrew Johnson Highway and Harlan Street.

Planning Director Randy Davenport told the planning commission that the urgent care will be opening in a couple weeks and is in their first step in the development. He said the Tennessee Department of Transportation is requiring a left turn lane, which is being constructed before the opening. They will also build a frontage road on the site which will be split into three lots. Those three sites could possibly include more restaurants. The mass grading plan for the commercial site was approved subject to proper permits from TDOT and will be brought back to the commission for discussion.

Also approved was a subdivision for 5.5 acres, right off Lafayette Street near Tusculum View. Davenport said the property will have four business lots, which could possibly include a hotel or a restaurant.

And the site plans for Johnson Farms was approved subject to the subdivision including a fire access road. The development located on North Rufe Taylor Road has been in discussion for a while and the final design included phase number two, with the requested revisions from the commission. The plan includes over 100 lots on the 88-acre property. 67 lots were approved previously in phase 1.
