An Oakland Park man reported more than $800 was stolen off of his EBT card.
The man reported to the Greene County Sheriff’s Department on Tuesday afternoon he went to the grocery store and the card reader declined his EBT card. The victim then logged into his EBT account and noticed five transactions in New York totaling nearly $830.
The victim said he received a call about a month ago from an automated machine saying his EBT card had been locked and he then gave out his card information. According to the report, the victim believes he might have been scammed.
