A Greeneville man was arrested with charges including kidnapping, resisting arrest, and unlawful drug paraphernalia on Wednesday.
The Greene County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence on the 20 block of Windover Park around 10:30 in the morning and spoke with a victim who said the suspect, Jonathan T. Potter, allegedly would not let her leave the home. According to the victim, law enforcement was at the home earlier that morning but Potter would not let her open the door and refused to let her leave, so she then called 911.
The victim said Potter had pepper spray and a Taser and that he left through the back door on foot before deputies arrived. A brief search was conducted where a foot trail was found going toward Blue Springs Parkway Apartments. A man matching Potter’s description was located but reportedly refused to stop after commands from a deputy.
The deputy ran to the suspect and he was confirmed to be Potter. A pat down search revealed Potter had a baggy with less than a gram of Methamphetamine, about three grams of mushrooms, a torch, glass pipe, a Taser, and pepper spray on him. He was arrested and also served warrants for Failure to Appear and Violation of Probation (3rd offense).
