A road rage incident was reported on Sunday night near Tusculum Boulevard and Austin Street.
According to the report, the complainant was traveling on Snapps Ferry Road when a pickup pulled up behind her. The suspect reportedly began tailgating the vehicle and revving his engine. While approaching Austin Street the report states he almost rear-ended the victim. According to the victim, she approached the suspect, later identified as Nathan Cox of Greeneville, to see what the issue was when he allegedly opened his driver door, told the victim to drive faster, and then racked a handgun that was on his lap.
The victim said she went back to her car at that point to call 911 and Cox fled the scene. After further investigation the Greeneville Police Department received footage that showed proof of Cox in a vehicle following the victim. Cox was later located near Justice Drive. During a search a Glock 42 handgun was located, a water bong, a pipe, and less than a gram of Marijuana. He was arrested with aggravated assault, simple possession, and unlawful drug paraphernalia.
