The Greeneville Historic Zoning Commission this morning approved two Certificate of Appropriateness request for properties in the district which fall under the historic zoning area.
ASBURY UNITED METHODIST CHURCH REPAIRS
The commission approved an application for roof repairs at Asbury United Methodist Church. Tom Smith addressed the board, detailing plans for repairs and replacement, a part of the church Capital Improvement Plan.
CHIMNEY REMOVAL AT WEST MAIN STREET RESIDENCE
Noah Galloway addressed the board about chimney removal at 436 West Main which he and his wife are maintaining for Courtney Blevins.
HISTORIC ZONING APPROVAL LISTS
The commission has been discussing the Historic Zoning Approval List for some time, in an effort to make the document more user friendly for current or potential property owners.
The list, presented earlier this month , was approved by the commission today and is posted below.
LIABILITY
Commission members expressed interest in getting legal clarification from the City Attorney about liability as it relates to items the board might approve which later led to an issue which could hold the commission at fault. Building Official Bert Seay said he would discuss the concerns with Attorney Woods and Interim City Manager Osborne.
