The Greeneville City Council will meet tomorrow afternoon and consider an ordinance on first reading to approve a $0.28 property tax rate increase for Greeneville for the 2024 Fiscal Year Budget.
The proposed budget shows an increase from the current property tax rate of $2.1775 per $100 of assessed value to $2.4575 per $100 on all real and personal property. If it’s approved there will be a public hearing held on the matter in the future.
Additional items on the agenda include a consideration to amend the policy on public participation in meetings, a resolution for the Town of Greeneville to Apply, Accept, Administer, and Amend an Arts Build Communities grant, and approval on the purchase of firefighting equipment for new E-2 Rescue Pumper. The equipment will consist of loose hand tools, thermal imaging cameras, stabilization jacks, and hydraulic rescue equipment with a total amount of $63,617.83
Furthermore, there will be a public hearing and consideration of an ordinance on second and final reading to expand the board of commissioners of the Greeneville Municipal Airport Authority.
The council will meet tomorrow at 4 PM at Greeneville Energy Authority in the G. Thomas Love Boardroom.
