The Greeneville City Council will hear an update on City Manager during their afternoon meeting today.
Mayor Cal Doty tells Radio Greeneville News he will update the board on the search for the new City Manager. Two weeks ago, the board heard a report from Pete Auger with MTAS who offered his suggestions for possible candidates to be interviewed. The City Council requested they be able to submit names of those they would also like to see interviewed for the job. Since that time, Council members have been going through that process. Once it is officially determined how many will be interviewed, a date or dates for face to face chats with the candidates will be set.
The City Council will also hear from Parks and Recreation Director Butch Patterson today, as part of deciding options for improvements and funding of the Tennis Complex on Hal Henard Road property. Patterson had told the Parks and Recreation Board late last month about the presentation he planned to propose during todays meeting.
The meeting begins at 4 in the G. Thomas Love Boardroom in the GEA Building. Following the meeting, a reception will be held for the retiring Public Works Director William Barner.
