Almost three and a half months after the Greeneville City Council called for then City Manager Todd Smith’s resignation, the towns governing body Tuesday took the first official step toward finding his replacement.

That’s Peter Auger with MTAS, who met with City Council members and Peter Auger with MTAS met in an hour and a half long workshop at Morristown Landing.
Mayor Cal Doty hopes to have the job description ready for a vote by the City Council at the December 16th meeting and begin advertising the job later that week with hopes of beginning interviews for the position sometime in February.
A 28 page draft provided to the group by Auger outlined the process of the search and hiring of a new city manager.
The draft will be finalized based on discussion during the workshop Tuesday before presentation to the City Council for consideration.
