The Greeneville City Council approved several items on their agenda yesterday including the asphalt purchase for the W.T. Daniels Park for the Greeneville Parks and Recreation Department.
The funds for the project would total about $20,000 and will begin with paving on the hill at the park. The council also approved a special event sign request for “A Night in Bethlehem,” a Nativity Festival that is usually held annually. The nativity is at 1109 Sun Valley Drive and is from December 1st through December 3rd. There will be signs directing everyone into the Festival.
The Greeneville Police Department was approved to use $10,000 out of their Tennessee Highway Safety Office grant to purchase five radar guns. Captain Steve Spano shared they are always looking to save money and got a deal. With the purchase of four radar units, they received another one for free.
The City Council also heard from the Roby Adult Center and the Parks and Recreation Department and approved the resolution to split fees between members and participants and to adjust the rates. The adjustment of the rate lines up with most of our neighbors and would bring in additional revenue for both programs.
