During the monthly Greeneville Municipal Planning Commission meeting Tuesday , Town Planner Justin Schooley updated board members on the status of several business related construction projects underway around town.

FONTANA POINT NEARING COMPLETION….OR IS IT?

Fontana Pointe at 62 Harlan Street is nearing completion, at least on this particular phase.  But if planners have their way, two more units could be added to the area.  Bert Seay reported he has had discussions with the owner for an additional two units on the property. Meanwhile as it pertains to the current construction, a temporary certificate of occupancy has been issued for Building 3.  Other final inspections are scheduled for next week.

THE GREENE PAW (pictured below) is the actual name of the Doggie Day Care at 170 Serral Drive.  Idell Construction is building the facility owned by Jason and Sherry Helton.

DUTCH BROTHERS COFFEE bought the property in front of Lowe’s at 2375 East Andrew Johnson Highway.  Paving is in progress at the traffic light intersection. Final inspection is scheduled June 11th.

KINGS WAY will be moving to 645 West Andrew Johnson Highway.

HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS

Pictured above is the former Car City location on West Andrew Johnson next to Kings Way where the Holiday Inn Express will be located at 705 West Andrew Johnson Highway.   Planners had hoped for an agreement with Kings Way for continued development of an access road running along their property frontage but no such agreement has yet to be reached.

B&H GARAGE DOORS is currently located across from Kyler’s Automotive on Tusculum Boulevard, but is purchasing the property located below on West Andrew Johnson Highway just past the GEA warehouse area for construction of a new facility.

MASSAGE MATTERS

As reported after a recent Planning Commission meeting, Massage Matters is moving to  a new location in a former residence at 1021 Tusculum Boulevard across the side street from Mr. Golf.

BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB

The Executive Director of the Boys and Girls Club of Greeneville/Greene County said  last month the new facility on Vann Road should be opening sometime in June.

Scott Bullington says the new facility is about 27,000 square feet in size compared to the current 10,800 square foot building on West Church Street. Bullington says the gym alone inside the new location is larger than the entire building at the current location.

Justin Schooley visited the site recently and echoed the thoughts of Bert Seay about how great the facility looks.  Schooley said Tuesday a temporary certificate of occupancy was issued earlier for some moving to begin.  Site work remains before an official Certificate of Occupancy will be issued and the facility then used for its intended purpose to serve the boys and girls of Greeneville and Greene County.

Constructions or renovations are also underway at 10 Federal Storage at 1640 E. Andrew Johnson Highway, the Brandon Lollar addition at 2590 E. AJ with a plan submitted for the Wingstop location there, the Jamie and Tammy Fillers apartments at 122 South Main, America’s Best Contacts and Eyeglasses in the Commons, Southern Belle Bridal and Tuxedo at 115 West Depot,  the First Horizon Bank remodel at 206 North Main, the Marsh Propane facility at 240 Baileyton Road and Arrowhead Church at 1703 West Main Street.
