The Greeneville Board Of Mayor and Aldermen met yesterday afternoon and approved all resolutions on their agenda including the authorization for the Greeneville Fire Department to apply for the Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program.
The grant is for $213,300 and funding is 95% federal funds with a 5% local match required. This grant will help replace the Fire Departments cardiac monitors, which Fire Chief Alan Shipley said are expiring.
Shipley also gave the board the good news about a separate grant the Fire Department received yesterday morning, for over $609,000. Funds would go towards the purchase of a new fire engine.
