Mayor Cal Doty and City Administrator Todd Smith are now both authorized to sign documents relating to the Crowfoot Alley Parking Project.
That action came in Tuesday’s meeting of the Greeneville Board of Mayor and Aldermen. Both are also authorized to terminate a 1928 agreement, if necessary, for the reconfiguration and improvement of construction of the Crowfoot Alley parking lot. The city attorney found the 94 year old agreement while researching the parking lot. The agreement was made by the property owners at the time, who wanted to equally share the maintenance costs for access of the Crowfoot Alley.
The board also approved The 2022 Turkey Trot event. The event has been a tradition in town and has had the same route for the past 8 years. Amanda Waddell from the Greeneville City School Education Foundation told the board all the money that is raised from the events goes towards teacher grants and is put back into the classrooms. She said this is the 8th year having the event and the 5 K race grows more every year, with last year having more than 600 racers. The board passed a motion for an agreement with Summit Engineering Services. The company will complete work and projects on behalf of the town and will be used for all future engineering services.
