The Tennessee Department of Labor & Workforce Development reported Thursday that Greene County’s unemployment rate in December was 4.6 percent, down from 4.8 percent in November.
Although Greene County’s rate decreased in December, it had the 10th highest county unemployment rate in the state.
Maury County had the highest rate at 5.7 percent, while Williamson and Cheatham counties had the lowest at 2.6 percent.
The unemployment rate for December decreased in 87 Tennessee counties, increased in six counties, and remained the same in two counties.
The state unemployment rate for December was 3.6 percent.
