The Tennessee Department of Labor & Workforce Development reported this afternoon that Greene County’s unemployment rate for November was 4.5 percent, down slightly from 4.6 percent in October.
Greene County’s rate a year ago was 4.0 percent.
The unemployment rate for November 2023 decreased in 89 counties, increased in three counties and remained the same in three counties. A total of 92 counties had rate of less than 5 percent.
Moore County had the lowest rate at 2.4 percent, while Perry County had the highest rate at 5.3 percent.
The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for the state for November was 3.5 percent, up from 3.3 percent in October
County unemployment rates are not adjusted for seasonal events such as school breaks and weather, while the statewide rate is seasonally adjusted to take into account the impact those events can have on unemployment.
