FEMA’s Disaster Recovery Center in Greene County will be closing.
The Greene County Center located at 204 North Cutler Street in the Greene County Courthouse Annex will close permanently at 5:00 PM on Saturday, December 14, 2024.
Cocke County and Hamblen County centers closed earlier this month.
For those affected by Hurricane Helene, help is still available. The FEMA Helpline is open from 7:00 AM to 12:00 midnight Eastern Time, the number is 800-621-3362. There are online options and in-person help is still available at the following Disaster Recovery Center locations: Carter County Public Library, Johnson County’s Tennessee National Guard Armory, Unicoi County’s Tennessee National Guard Armory, or Washington County’s Cherry Grove Baptist Church.
If you have not applied for FEMA disaster assistance yet, the deadline is January 7, 2025. You can apply online or in person at one of the Disaster Recovery Centers.
