The search for and the investigation of the disappearance of an elderly Greene County woman continues.
Sheriff Wesley Holt told Radio Greeneville News this morning those assisting in the search is growing in number.

“Well, this morning we’re branching out doing extensive searches of the area, the properties around the area, trying to find out if we can locate the subject. We’ve got a good contingency here today. We’ve got the Hawkins County Rescue Squad, Newport, Greeneville, and we’ve got the TBI. We’re going to use a plane here later to do some flying, things like that. So we’re trying to do a grid search today and make sure we’re not leaving any stones interned. Right now, we’re looking about a mile, mile and a half and we may have to extend out from there at this point. Our criminal investigation division along with the TBI are looking into what could have happened here. So we’re working from that angle right now, and I can’t really comment anymore on that.”
This is the residence where Mary Sue Barham lives and the property where emergency personnel have set up their command center.
