Reopening Monday following the Christmas holiday break, it was a busy day at the Greene County Election Commission Office, as four candidates for office in the May 2026 election had their qualifying petitions filed.
KAREN COLLINS OTTINGER – REGISTER OF DEEDS
She will be seeking her second term in office after having first been elected in 2022.

JAN KIKER – COUNTY COMMISSIONER – DISTRICT 3
Jan Kiker was appointed in 2022 as County Commissioner in the Third District following the death of Clifford “Doc” Bryant. She won election to the seat later that year and is seeking reelection. Kiker also served as a Greene County Commissioner from 2002 to 2014. She is a former teacher in the Greene County School System, having retired in 2024.

LYLE PARTON – COUNTY COMMISSIONER – DISTRICT 4
Local businessman and farmer Lyle Parton is seeking his fourth term as 4th District County Commissioner

LARRY JUSTIS – COUNTY COMMISSIONER – DISTRICT 6
Local educator Larry Justis will be seeking election to the County Commission in the sixth district. Justis was appointed to the Planning Commission in May following the death of Sam Riley.
