The Greene County Regional Planning Commission meets at 1 PM this afternoon and will receive an update on the solar regulations work session, which was held on January 4th.
Recommendations include permitting solar as accessory use, allowing in M-2 (High Impact Use) and in brown field zones, protecting farmland, and avoiding spot zoning. (Read more here)
The planning commission will continue the discussion on the A-1 General Agriculture District and uses permitted. According to the agenda, Stephanie Hopson is to speak on potential changes to the Zoning Resolution, concerning what’s permitted in A-1 zoning, specifically RV Parks and campgrounds.
The topic has been brought up in previous meetings with many residents expressing their concern and what’s allowed where, and others providing plenty of research to review. After an RV Park was approved by the Regional Planning Commission, it raised some concerns for residents and zoning questions. Now residents want to make sure zoning requirements are looked at before another piece of farmland is turned into a campground.
Additionally, the meeting will include consideration and approval of minor subdivisions, the Replat of lots near East Ridges Drive, and the division of lots near the Horton Highway.
The meeting will be held at the Greene County Courthouse Annex Conference Room, located on 204 North Cutler Street.
