The Greene County Commission will meet tonight in the Greene County Court House and plan to discuss renovating the former Greene County/Greeneville Humane Society facility on Hal Henard Road for more than $100,000.
Greene County recently obtained the property and the Animal Control committee voted at their June 6th meeting to make renovations. If the resolution is approved, it would allow construction of a barn on the facility with stalls for cattle and horses, storage of hay and feed, replacement of HVAC units, a new roof on the building, removal of dead and diseased trees, and the installation of natural gas to both the current animal control building and former facility.
Also on the agenda is a resolution to authorize the use of more than $2 M of local American Rescue Plan funding for water and sewer infrastructure projects. If approved it will help begin the projects to continue providing clean water to customers.
Additional resolutions include an increase in registration fees on all canine and feline rabies vaccinations from $1 to $2 and appropriation of $300,000 to the Solid Waste Fund for the purchase of a new Compact Track Loader and other expenditures.
The meeting will start at 6 PM in the Criminal Courtroom.
