The Greene County Board of Education meets next Thursday.
Agenda items include Board discussion of the Director of Schools.
Interim Director Dr. Chris Malone has been in that job since David McLain retired at the end of January. In-system only applications for the Director of Schools position resulted in Malone being the lone applicant. Thursday night, Malone will be seated alongside School Board Chair Rick Tipton for the first time in a regular school board meeting. Plans were to conduct interviews of the candidates following the application deadline with a new Director of Schools taking over officially July 1st, which is the beginning of the new school year.
The board is also expected to get another monthly update on construction of the CTE additions at Chuckey Doak and West Greene High Schools.
The meeting begins at 5:30 at the James W. Parham Central Office Complex.
