Greene County has been awarded a Certificate of Occupancy by the State Fire Marshal’s Office with zero deficiencies at the Administration Offices location.
Mayor Kevin Morrison told Radio Greeneville News early Friday evening this will allow for the process of moving offices currently housed at the Annex. The first one to move however will be the Building and Zoning Office, currently located in the 9-1-1 building on Union Street. Plans are to move building and zoning the first weekend in October.
Morrison says in an effort to not contribute to the traffic issues on the west end of town created by the Main Street paving project, they plan to wait for Summers and Taylor to finish that project first.
The County Clerk’s office (tag office) will follow building and zoning when they move to the former Takoma building on the 16th, 17th and 18th of October.
The first County Commission meeting in the new location will be Monday, October 20th at 6:00 pm. The September meeting of the commission was cancelled due to a lack of actionable business.
