Greene County 911 Central Dispatch received a clean audit report for fiscal year 2024-25 during the 911 Board meeting Tuesday afternoon.
911 Director Jerry Bird said he was “pleased” with the audit report, and that 911’s net position had improved by about $347,000 in the previous fiscal year. The agency had a financial balance of about $3 million as of June 2025.
Members of the board said they would focus on working with 911 and Greene County-Greeneville EMS to resolve ongoing issues with the agency’s computer-aided dispatch (CAD) system.
EMA Director Heather Sipe said that there would be a test of the SMART 911 system on March 17, and told board members to continue to encourage those in the community to sign up for the service that delivers emergency information to cellular devices.
There are currently over 2,600 people signed up for the service, which is tested on a quarterly basis.
